StreamLine™: generate chemical images rapidly
Fast, gentle, large area mapping
StreamLine rapidly generates high definition 2D chemical images of very large sample areas. It prevents laser induced sample damage by illuminating with a line of laser light, rather than an intense spot.
Chemical images that miss no detail
Most samples are not homogeneous; you need to know the size and distribution of their components to understand them fully. StreamLine collects this information, quickly and without damage, no matter how large your sample.
Using StreamLine's Slalom mode you always cover the whole of the analysis area, even when undersampling. This ensures you do not miss important information and the resulting images exactly describe the sample.
Sample and signal in synchrony
StreamLine synchronises the sample motion on the High Speed Encoded Stage (HSES) with the movement of the signal on the detector. Each imaged point of the sample traverses the laser line once. As it does so, the detector accumulates the signal and then reads it. This rapidly generates a large, artefact-free chemical image of the sample.
Seamless images of any size
The area scanned by StreamLine is not limited to the field of view of the microscope objective, just by the total travel of the microscope stage. StreamLine can generate images of large areas, without artefacts, because it removes the need to tile together smaller areas.
Scan area and image resolution are simple to control by changing the step size or the microscope objective. You can enable StreamLine's Slalom mode if you want faster scanning at a reduced resolution, but still ensure all of your sample is analysed.
Images taken at different resolutions are easier to compare if you have used the same objective lens throughout (as the analysis depth is the same). StreamLine and Slalom, give you the flexibility to produce images at the resolution and size you want, with the same objective lens.
Want even more detail?
With StreamHR™, you can rapidly image your samples at the highest possible spatial resolution.
